SAFETY ENGINEERS SET TOUGHER STANDARDS FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES
During recent years there has been greatly increased concern for both worker and traffic safety in construction areas. The effort to improve detour design through better routing and improved traffic control has been a national concern. As a result, many states, counties and some smaller jurisdictions have taken constructive steps to develop new and better procedures. The article reports on various methods and procedures that have been developed in several states to improve safety in construction areas.
