PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS ON THE HULL INDUCED BY CAVITATING PROPELLER
DER KAVITIERENDE SPITZENWIRBEL EINES PROPELLERS UND DIE DARAUS RESULTIERENDEN DRUCKSCHWANKUNGEN
Experimental results about pressure fluctuations induced on a flat plate have shown that strong cavitating propellers on ships of conventional design produce two separate effects. The pressure amplitude decreases linearly with decreasing propulsion. On the other hand the amplitude increase in pressure waves is caused by whirling and wakes. The interaction between propeller and hull is studied as a factor of different propeller parameters.
