ROAD DEVELOPMENT IN GOA.
The highway network in Goa, India, is described. Building bridges on major routes and increasing the coastal road network are considered important for prosperity. Eight bypasses are in progress or have been completed on the national highways. National highway 17B has been widened to four lanes. With current traffic growth, widening of the north-south national highway to four lanes is considered imperative. Allocation of national funding for highway improvements in Goa is expected.
