OKALOOSA COUNTY FIVE-YEAR TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2003-2007. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each transit property in Florida that receives State Transit Block Grant funding is required by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to prepare a Transit Development Plan (TDP). The requirement is intended to ensure that the provision of public transit services is consistent with the travel needs and mobility goals of the local communities that are served by the transit system. The TDP, by establishing a strategic focus and mission for transit services, will serve as a guide in the future development of the transit system that will meet the needs of the community that it serves. The five chapters of the TDP include: Assessment of Community and Customer Transit Needs; Goals and Initiatives; Performance Evaluation of Demand Response and Fixed-Route Transit Service; Demand Estimation and Needs Assessment; and, Transit Recommendations and Five-Year Capital and Operating Plan.
