DEVELOPMENTS IN RAIL TRANSPORT ENERGY SYSTEMS AND ELECTRIFICATION

RAZVITIE ENERGETIKI I ELEKTRIFIKACII ZELEZNODOROZNOGO TRANSPORTA

This article gives a brief review of the use of electricity on the SZD since the beginning of this century. Data is given in tables to show the increase in the number of sub-stations, in electricity consumption on the SZD, in the length of overhead lines and in the transformer stations. In addition the author describes the various stages in the introduction of electric traction up to the present day and forecasts development up to 1980.
