DATA MANAGEMENT -- THE KEY TO TERMINAL EFFICIENCY

The author argues that computer-based data management systems are in technological step with modern container terminal operations and properly designed and implemented can greatly improve terminal efficiency. He describes the implementation of a computer-based information and control system and the role which automatic container identification can play in increasing the efficiency of the overall data management system.
