COPPER, NICKEL, AND TITANIUM ALLOYS FOR APPLICATIONS IN CONTACT WITH SEAWATER
KUPFER-, NICKEL UND TITANLEGIERUNGEN FUER SEEWASSERANWENDUNGEN
This is a review of applications of copper, nickel, and titanium alloys in shipbuilding and other materials exposed to seawater corrosion. The mechanisms of corrosion, e.g. , of tubes of ships' heat exchangers, are discussed at length. Other examples are pipes for heating systems on ships and packaging of chemicals such as sulfuric acid for overseas shipping.
