AN INTRODUCTION TO MODERN VEHICLE DESIGN. CHAPTER 5. BODY DESIGN: AERODYNAMICS
In a review of the work of the vehicle stylist and aerodynamicist, it is considered important to recognise the interaction between vehicle mass, engine efficiency and aerodynamics when considering, and analysing, vehicle stability. Overall vehicle aerodynamics require an analysis of lift, drag and pitching moments when analysing the tendency of a vehicle to rotate, usually around the centre of gravity when influenced by side forces. Mention is also made of under-bonnet and cabin aerodynamic ventilation, as well as wind-tunnel testing and associated calculations. For the covering abstract see ITRD E113442.
