SOVIETS TO GET UNIQUE CORING SHIP
A unique geological survey and coring vessel ordered by the Soviet Union from the French contractor Serete is highlighted here. The ship features three separate drilling systems (rotary drilling, flexodrilling, vibratory coring) plus dynamic positioning and seismic capability. The ship can operate moored or using dynamic thrusters. Each of the operating components will be tested during the current sea trials off France.
