USING THE COMPUTER TO CONTROL THE CONTAINER
A West German management consultancy has been specialising in applying the computer to the shipping industry for some 12 years. The article outlines the operation of a container control system after perfecting it over the last 18 months in action with--among others--Deutsche Afrika-Linien. It has been keeping track of around 50,000 containers over the last 18 months.
