ICEBREAKING LNGCS--PRACTICAL AND POSSIBLE
A study completed by TransCanada Pipelines of Canada has confirmed that the LNG icebreaking carrier is a practical mode of transport for the movement of natural gas in the high Arctic islands where the amount of the reserves will not support a pipeline. Since no icebreaking LNGCs have yet been constructed, preliminary research aimed at establishing the design of such a carrier, was a vital part of the study.
