CANVEY COOLS DOWN MOST OF THE FLEET
The world's rapidly growing fleet of LNG tankers has created the need for an experienced and convenient centre for commissioning them prior to entering service. The marine facility at Canvey has a deep water jetty capable of receiving at ballast draught the largest LNG tankers built or under construction to date, and has bulk supplies of LNG, LPG and high pressure natural gas. The terminal is conveniently located relative to the principal LNGC shipyards in Europe. In addition, Canvey has accumulated comprehensive experience over the past 18 years on all operational and technological aspects of liquefied gases. These facts, together with extensive operational flexibility, have enabled Canvey to develop this new and necessary role, and to provide a commissioning service to the LNG shipping industry.
