SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF FLIGHT TEST TECHNIQUES FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE RANGE PERFORMANCE OF JET AIRCRAFT

From the physical fundamentals of the known W/delta-method, a simplified method is derived to determine the range performance of jet aircraft. The theoretical background is provided. The flight test parameters which are to be measured result from the developed equations. The simplicity of the method, which under certain conditions is also applicable to aircraft with multi-shaft engines, results from a special plotting of the data.
