INSTANT RO-RO--THE MODULAR CONCEPT USING UNIFLOTES AND BRIDGING
The proliferation of Ro-Ro terminals in recent years, coupled with the wide range of site conditions and types of Ro-Ro vessels in use, has usually resulted in considerable delays between the initial proposal and the final execution of a Ro-Ro terminal project. In order to reduce this planning time and also the time taken to fabricate and install a suitable facility, Thos. Storey has developed a large variety of designs employing the Uniflote pontoon unit and the new Acrow Panel unit construction bridge. Both of these are in large scale volume production and besides offering enormous savings in design and erection time, their use significantly reduces the capital cost of the installation. Design and installation occupy a matter of weeks rather then months, and although standard components are used, there are no apparent limits to the versatility of the modular system.
