NON DESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION OF PRESTRESSED TENDONS BY THE MAGNETIC STRAY FIELD METHOD
The physical principle of the magnetic leakage flux measurement method, signal analysis and the measurement equipment are described. The method was tested on a three-lane highway bridge and it is shown that intact and ruptured steel tendons could be distinguished, as later demonstrated by opening the concrete and accessing the tendons. The method eliminated the signals from mild steel reinforcements (stirrups). For the covering abstract see ITRD E111699.
