THERMAL MOVEMENTS OF VICTORIA BRIDGE
A major cross-river bridge in Brisbane was instrumented for a twelve month period in order to obtain information about the desired thermal movement for replacement bearings for the bridge. The results gave a clear picture of the behaviour of the bridge and yielded information not originally contemplated in the design of the instrumentation. The use of air temperature to determine the thermal range of the bearings for a bridge of this type, is questioned. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD E204289.
