STUDY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR INTELLIGENT TAXI SYSTEM
In these days, information technology has been developed rapidly to improve the transportation service. AVM-GPS, Navigation system, and CTI system have been introduced for taxi service. However, many vacant taxis are driving around or making queues with idling to pick up customers. Matching with taxi and passenger is by coincidence which means coordination of taxi and customer is not done effectively. To solve the problem, ITS technology can be applied to control the taxi demand. In this paper, current taxi problems at locations are identified and the proposal for Intelligent Taxi System is revealed. (A*) For the covering abstract see ITRD E110327.
