This report contains detailed guidelines which might be applied to the geometric design of rural and urban roads. It relates only to the elements of classification, alignment and cross-section; other elements are promised in later reports. The guidelines are supported by discussion of basic parameters and deduction of working control values from these. Many of the recommendations are contained in tables and sketches which are liberally used through the report. /Author/
