NOISE LEVELS AND NOISE CONTROL ON COMMERCIAL SHIPS
The main noise sources in a ship are identified and some recommended shipboard noise limits are presented. Guidelines for achieving the design of a quiet ship are given, taking as an example 35,000-ton gas-turbine powered tanker built by FMC Corporation, Portland, Oregon.
