A STUDY OF HIGHWAY NOISE POLLUTION IN TEHRAN
Reported is study of roadway traffic noise pollution for the GTMA (Greater Tehran Metropolitan Area). The objective of the study was to evaluate and model the noise pollution, using information in the study database consisting of relevant information about the noise level, traffic, roadway and meteorological characteristics. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to develop highway noise level descriptive models. Although the study findings are for the GTMA and problem specific, the methodology can be applied in any urban noise pollution study.
