CFRP PLATE STRENGTHENING OF RC BEAMS
This paper presents experimental investigations carried out on externally reinforced concrete (RC) beams at the Centre for Cement & Concrete of the University of Sheffield. The aim of the tests was to study the behaviour of RC beams strengthened with epoxy bonded CFRP plates when subjected to short term loading. The results show that bonded CFRP plates can be used to achieve satisfactory strengthening of existing RC beams. A very simple and novel anchorage technique developed during this research work is showing promising results in delaying the peeling off failure. For the covering abstract see ITRD E111699.
