SAVING LIVES THROUGH ADVANCED VEHICLE SAFETY TECHNOLOGY : INTELLIGENT VEHICLE INITIATIVE 2001 ANNUAL REPORT
This annual report presents an overview of the Intelligent Vehicle Initiative's (IVI's) progress and accomplishments during FY 2001. It first gives an overview of the IVI program, looking at its mission focus on prevention, and its program funding as a public private partnership entity. Progress and accomplishments are then described focusing on three areas: 1) safety of in-vehicle information systems; 2) technologies for improving driver performance in degraded driving conditions; and, 3) crash-avoidance technology. The report concludes with a look at the future of vehicle safety technology.
