MODEL TESTS IN WAVES OF OIL BOOMS IN CATENARY CONFIGURATION
The present report gives the results obtained from towing tests in waves of an oil boom in U-form. The tension forces in the boom and the relative motion between the boom and the water surface were measured as a function of elasticity in the boom, wave condition and towing speed. The results from statistical analyses of these quantities are presented both in the form of tables and curves, and the dependence of results on the above parameters are discussed.
