GUIDANCE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF MATERIALS FOR SECONDARY BARRIERS OF REFRIGERATED LIQUEFIED GAS CARRIERS (WITH EXPOSITION)
This report aims to furnish a guidance to accept the materials including their welded parts for secondary barriers, which differ from the materials given in the Table 6.2 of IMCO Gas Code, in accordance with the requirements of 1.5.1 of IMCO Gas Code. This guidance has been established on the assumption that E-grade steels approved by the Administration is used as the materials for secondary barriers against minimum design temperature of minus 50 degrees C. This guidance applies to the refrigerated LPG carriers or Other Liquefied Gas Carriers at temperature not below minus 50 degrees C designed in accordance with IMCO Gas Code A. 328 (IX) and so that the hull structures act as secondary barriers.
