SOURCE STRENGTH OF MARINE MACHINERY
For the prediction of noise in ships, a knowledge of the strength of machinery noise sources is necessary. This paper discusses possible ways in which source strength could be defined and measured. It is concluded that the only practical methods available at present are those which define source strength by reference to the response of a typical foundation to the force source.
