A STATE-OF-THE-ART SYSTEM FOR CONTAINER TERMINAL MANAGEMENT

This paper describes a state-of-the-art Management Information System for a port container terminal. The user needs and requirements have been assessed, the available technologies investigated and a generic system architecture developed. The system has been implemented and installed in the Container Terminal of Thessaloniki Port Authority. The system functionality is described, the selection of the various technological solutions justified, and conclusions drawn from the preliminary operation of the system.
