ALSTOM UNVEILS NEXT GENERATION OF PENDOLINO
The new state-of-the-art high speed emu, developed by Alstom, was unveiled in May. These new modular trains, designed to meet European interoperability standards, come in two versions: a tilting Pendolino, and a non-tilting train for shuttle services. The technical specification for interoperability mean that the train can run on the several different voltages used in continental Europe. The introduction of new interior and exterior designs reflect the international character of the trains. Additionally, the trains address the new market requirement for non-tilting emus for 250 km/h shuttle services.
