LOUISVILLE: AN EMPLOYMENT TRANSPORTATION MODEL
The challenge of connecting people seeking employment with jobs and education is familiar to community and transportation operators in communities of all sizes. The Community Transportation Association's Joblinks demonstration grants were designed to help make these connections happen. This article looks at one of the most successful commitments of Joblinks. The City of Louisville, Kentucky has developed an innovative series of employment transportation programs, such as a new express route specifically designed to connect people looking for work with employers seeking employees, and a local circulator shuttle within an industrial park to provide reverse commuter service.
