RAILWAY STATIC POWER CONDITIONER FIELD TEST
This paper describes a railway static power conditioner (RPC) designed to minimize voltage imbalance and voltage fluctuations of the three- phase electric power system the Shinkansen electric railroad line. The basic configuration of the RPC is described, followed by a discussion of the test results on the performance of the RPC in three function modes. It is indicated that the RPCS are able to compensate for voltage imbalance and fluctuations, as well as compensate for harmonic distortion.
