SECOND ANNUAL EVALUATION OF THE SMARTROUTE SYSTEMS ADVANCED TRAVELER INFORMATION SERVICES CONTRACT FOR MIAMI-DADE, BROWARD AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES MAY 2002-DECEMBER 2003

This report presents the findings of the second annual evaluation of the 511 (SmartRoute Systems) Advanced Traveler Information Services in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Florida. The first annual evaluation of the system (in 2003) found that the system had a low number of users. This current evaluation found that the call volume had greatly increased. In addition, those users of the system who were surveyed were very satisfied with it. Other findings of this evaluation emphasized the excellent results of marketing and public outreach efforts, and made it clear that it was important for the marketing and public outreach efforts to continue. In addition, there are continuing indications that the SmartRoute Systems are having some difficulty with their management and operations.
