JAVA TELEMATICS TECHNOLOGY : BUILDING AND LEVERAGING A MARKET ECOSYSTEM
This article describes attempts to create a "telematics ecosystem", an alliance of companies whose goal is to fulfill end-to-end telematics system requirements. Those requirements include the in-vehicle system the communication infrastructure, and a service center with voice and data portal. The standards that encompass these areas include the Java Community Process, the Open Services Gateway Initiative (OSGi) and the Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration (AMI-C).
