THE ANALYSIS OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ROAD TRAFFIC CRASHES IN A MOUNTAIN CITY IN WESTERN CHINA
Studied are the characteristics of traffic crashes in a mountain city in China. Chongqing city is located on a mountain in western China. Also explored are effective methods along with total pedestrian casualties. 13121 road traffic crashes with casualties were analyzed, and the period of data collected ranged from 3 to 10 years. The study determined that crashes were related to the characteristics of geography, climate, sociological characteristics of the people involved, and the sense of traffic safety. The results showed that head injury was the most common reason for deaths, and the main reasons for the crashes were improper driving and violation of traffic laws. Violation of traffic laws by pedestrians was also one of the main reasons for pedestrian fatalities.
