PUSHING PARKING
Airports are looking at parking as a way to generate additional revenues. However, they are often competing with satellite lots that offer less expensive parking options. This article discusses some ways that airports can attract travelers to on-site parking facilities. There are two keys to success for airports seeking to be more competitive in this area: service and marketing. Some airports are offering valet parking, while others provide free short-term parking at terminals. Airports should also have a comprehensive parking plan in place that ensures that it is easy to enter and exit parking facilities and that spaces are easy to find within these parking areas. Pricing should be competitive with satellite lots. Marketing efforts, including informative signing and public relations, can also encourage customers to choose airport parking facilities.
