NOISE AND VIBRATION FROM HIGH-SPEED TRAINS. CHAPTER 2. WHEEL AND RAIL EXCITATION FROM ROUGHNESS
Models of wheel and rail roughness for use in the estimation of wheel/rail noise are presented. Methods of measuring roughness and its characteristics are described. Methods of controlling wheel/rail noise at source, including roughness amplitude reduction, reduction in wheel/rail contact stiffness, and increase of the dimensions of the zone of contact are discussed. For the covering abstract see ITRD E109863.
