METHOD FOR EVALUATION OF DRIVER STRESS RESULTING FROM ROAD CHARACTERISTICS
This paper describes a method developed for investigating stress that results from road characteristics in rural areas. The assessment includes the description of the road geometry, lane guidance devices and the surrounding area. These three factors are then assessed in terms of road conditions such as curve, straight road, and intersection. Using the methodology, it is determined that specific road sections which are more likely to host critical incidents which can lead to accidents are able to be identified.
