CHARACTERISTICS STUDY OF THE INTERFACE BETWEEN SOIL AND CONCRETE BY USING LARGE SIZE SINGLE SHEAR APPARATUS AND NUMERICAL ANALYSIS
By using the large size single shear apparatus, this paper conducted single shear tests for fine grained soil-concrete interface. A shear band and its thickness are found from the test samples. Two kinds of deformation of a shear band are discovered: sliding on the interface and shearing in the band. Based on the test results, a new interface element called slide-shear-layer element and a new constitutive law are proposed. A calibration method to determinate six parameters of the law is obtained. Numerical simulation shows that the new interface element and its constitutive law are reasonable.
