THE MARKET FOR CONCRETE GAS CARRIERS

Concrete is in many ways particularly favorable as a building material for gas carriers. However, both gas tankers and steel shipyard capacity are presently in substantial surplus. The authors review the market for gas tankers and the situation of shipyards, and conclude that in the mid-1980's, there will be a demand for gas carriers and other ships placing a strain upon the capacity of conventional steel yards.
