A GUIDELINE FOR LOW-VOLUME SEALED ROADS IN THE SADC REGION
This paper provides an overview of the "Guidelines for Low Volume Sealed Roads in the Southern Africa Development Community." These Guidelines were developed to raise awareness of current practices and new developments in the provision of rural roads. The Guidelines provide a compendium of recent approaches to planning and investment appraisal techniques, innovative technology in construction and maintenance, and latest use of labor-based and other construction techniques to ensure the integrity of rural roads by local participation and ownership.
