SLIPS AND FALLS-TRUCK RELATED PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENTS

The Federal Highway Administration's Bureau of Motor Carrier Safety has recently completed a survey and analysis of vehicle related slip or fall type injuries in the truck industry. The purpose of this survey was to obtain data regarding the extent of slip and fall injuries, along with information as to the costs involved, exposure indicators, vehicle factors and their comparison with other types of workmen's compensation injuries. A total of 46 carriers were visited and 21,644 records were searched for the year 1974. An additional 1,950 workmen's compensation reports were analyzed using the State of California's injury experience. /Author/
