FRP DECKS HELP CONTROL CORROSION
Analyzes the costs and benefits of durable, light-weight, fiber- reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge decks. They can cost two to three times as much as a conventional deck that is cast in place. Two applications where savings could be expected to justify the initial expense are on projects where FRP would significantly lower lifecycle costs, and on structures where reducing weight is a high priority.
