ROAD SAFETY AND BENCHMARKING
The problem of road safety has two sides. One is the social perspective and the effects for society of road accidents and their victims. What should society do to reduce the number of accidents and their effects? The other side of road safety is the individual perspective. Ho do road accidents affect the lives of citizens? What can road users to do avoid accidents and their consequences? A further problem is the fact that what is obviously a huge problem to society is often experienced as a small problem by the individual.
