INTERMODAL VOLUMES: TRACKING TRENDS & ANTICIPATING IMPACTS IN NORTHERN ILLINOIS, CONTINUED

This paper reports that: the evidence from 1999-2000 shows a growth of 7% in intermodal volume through maritime ports of the United States and Canada; and, the rate of growth in volume is 5.84% for the northeast Illinois region, which means that the trend for the region is presently running at a lower level than the national trend, but not much below the level forecast in CATS Working Paper 97-16.
