BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC IN AMSTERDAM
The planned facilities for pedestrians and cyclists in Amsterdam can be divided into (1) an expansion of the traffic-free pedestrian areas in the town centre (2) adjustments in areas with a dominant residential function laying stress on the pedestrian (3) improvement in streets which form an indispensable part of the road network and (4) the construction of bicycle routes.
