THE FLORIDA DOT IS SIGNING ON TO A DIGITAL FUTURE
This article describes a new program undertaken by the Florida Department of Transportation that will use digital technology to create, operate, and maintain a progressive transportation system for Florida residents and tourists. Such break-through systems include mandatory electronic submittal of engineering plans and a digital quality assurance/quality control system to support its strict CADD standards. The focus is on issues relating to control of the data delivery process and security measures designed to safeguard and protect the data.
