TENNESSEE-TOMBIGBEE WATERWAY
Design features of the waterway that will connect the north-flowing Tennessee River and the south-flowing Tombigbee River and construction of the navigation channel are described. The waterway consists of 3 distinct sections: a 270 km river section (with a 2.74 m by 91.4 m channel and 4 locks and dams) from Demopolis, Alabama to Amory, Mississippi; a 73 km canal section (with a 3.66 m) by 91.4 m channel and 5 locks) from Amory to Bay Springs Lock and Dam; and a 64 km divide cut (with a 3.66 m by 85.3 m channel) to the Tennessee River.
