TRITON KAOWOOL CERAMIC FIBRE IN MARINE APPLICATIONS
The uses for thermal and acoustic insulation in ships and in other marine installations are many and varied, representing a substantial outlay in terms of materials, labor and maintenance costs. Many such applications can be simplified and made more efficient by using a ceramic fiber material that has been used very successfully in industry in general since the early 1960's. The author reviews some of the successful marine applications that have so far been put into commission by marine engineers and naval architects in various countries.
