A14 HUNTINGDON RAILWAY VIADUCT
Huntingdon Railway Viaduct is a six span structure carrying the A14 Trunk Road over the East Coast Mainline Railway and Huntingdon Station, to the west of Huntingdon. The bridge carrying the heavily trafficked Brampton Road into Huntingdon over the railway at the same location also lies beneath the viaduct. The management of the viaduct (which was constructed in 1975) was changed to a new company in 1996. This paper discusses the development of a maintenance and refurbishment strategy for the viaduct. The work is still ongoing, but when completed, the viaduct will ensure continued and improved service from this structure on the heavily trafficked road.
