DATA ANALYSIS OF BREATH ALCOHOL CONCENTRATIONS TAKEN FROM SUSPECTED IMPAIRED DRIVERS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA (1992-93)
The objective was to determine by Breathalyzer analysis the blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) in persons suspected of impaired driving and to determine the frequency of analyses performed by hour, day and population within a specific police jurisdiction. There were a significant numbers of drivers stopped for impaired driving exhibiting low or nil BAC implying the use of other drugs causing impairment. The time of day and day of the week data coincide with previous data for alcohol related accidents.
