THE PAINTING OF UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGES
MISE EN PEINTURE DES PARKINGS SOUTERRAINS
Two criteria were used for the painting of the underground parking garage at the defense: aesthetic appearance and excellent visibility for the user. After briefly describing the equipment and types of sign and signals employed, the authors define the nature of the paints utilized. Preliminary tests were conducted for the selection of the paints: tests of the quality of the surfacing; selection of the particle size distribution of the products to be added to the surfacing; paint identification tests. Details are given of the nature of the concrete supports, preparation of the surface and application of the surfacings, and methods of control used (acceptance test for the paints, preparation of the supports, consumption of products, measurements of adhesion and skidding resistance of the surfacing). /TRRL/
