NEW PROPULSION SYSTEMS FOR URBAN VEHICLES
LES NOUVEAUX SYSTEMES DE PROPULSION ENVISAGEABLES POUR LES VEHICULES URBAINS
Attention is drawn to the fact that it is still possible to make marked improvements to thermal engines so that present urban conditions can improve as regards pollution and noise. The possibility of producing an efficient electric vehicle is stressed. If the zinc-air battery seems to be a transitory solution, two other systems appear to be a distinct possibility for the future: a high-performance accumulator such as a sodium-sulphur battery and a hydrogen battery. /TRRL/
